Stainless steel spring and wire netting
1. The application of stainless steel in precision spring
In the production of precision spring, under anti-corrosion requirements, the attention is often put on copper alloys like brass, phosphor bronze and packfong. In recent years, with the development of stainless steel, the output of stainless steel precision spring have far exceeded copper alloy, the stainless steel precision spring is not only anti-rust and anti-corrosion, but it can be machine to achieve different strength level through techniques including cold machining or heat treatment, to satisfy requirements of different service conditions. Besides, the stainless steel springs do not need anti-rust (electroplating) second processing after the forming, thus facilitate environmental protection and cost saving.
In the precision spring production, the stainless steel in use includes austenite, ferrite, martensite and precipitation hardening stainless steel. The main brands are : 1Cr17Ni7, 0Cr18Ni9, 3Cr13, 17-7PH, 0Cr17Ni12Mo2 and 1Cr17.
2. The specification and characteristics of material for stainless steel precision spring
The stainless steel specifications for making stainless steel precision spring are strip and wire. Of strips, mostly are under the thickness of 0.5mm, occupying 80%; of wires, most are under the diameter of 0.5mm, occupying 30%.
The austenite stainless steel can achieve the required mechanical property performance through cold machining technique. The martensite and precipitation hardened stainless steel can reach required mechanical property through heat treatment technique. By giving ageing treatment with temperature 300-500℃ to the austenite stainless steel cold machining products, better performances can be acquired.
3. The usage and characteristics of stainless steel wire netting
The stainless steel wire netting has been widely used in various industrial filtration, separation, drying machine, transportation mesh bag and dust removal netting. With the promoting of people’s living standards, the beautiful and durable window screen netting have been widely used in the prosperous seashore districts. Besides, in military and high-tech areas, the stainless steel wire netting cloth has been used to make bullet proof vest, cable screen netting, and electronic collision machine, etc, and has become the necessary material in these areas.
The stainless steel used for wire netting mainly focus on these two brands: 0Cr18Ni9 and 0Cr17Ni12Mo2. The practical 0Cr17Ni12Mo2 and 0Cr19Ni13Mo3 are proper for the products with comparatively thin diameter,. 0Cr25Ni20, 25-20Si2 and 2Cr25N are suitable for the most heat resistant components.
